And of course we have some inspiration to get you started!

First up we have a gorgeous canvas by talented Tina Connolly:

This is Tina's tip: "When creating with texture, I like to use a combination of rough and smooth, and gloss and matt. This gives interesting contrasts on your creation and allows each element to show rather than get lost. On my canvas I left the "Live, Love, Dance" title smooth to contrast against the detailed background."

 Next is Sandrine's  Layout:

''Priceless Love"

Sandrine's tip is a mini tutorial to create texture on chipboard:

If you are a hoarder (like me), you would have a collection of rhinestones in all sorts of colours. A little idea sprouted in my mind, what if I used them to create texture on chipboard? Well why not? The great thing is that you can use any colours you want as they will get painted!
I am not using them for the bling effect but rather for the beautiful texture effect.
Rach gave me this gorgeous chipboard piece to play with a while back and it was going to work perfectly with this layout :) So I started by covering the areas where the rhinestones would fit, when satisfied with the look, I covered the lot with  a thick coat of Gesso, you will need Gesso to prime, paint will not stick to plastic rhinestones.

When Gesso is dry, you can apply the colour of your choice over it, you can use mists, paints etc. How easy and cheap is that? Use different size rhinestones for extra interest.

Lastly I added "Vintage Photo" Distress Stickles on the raised areas, it has a lush golden effect, that was perfect with my colour scheme, I also love the rough feel it gives. This is the final result:

Next is Julie's LO
Julie has used texture paste and a WOW Template to add texture to her background then sprayed over the top with Glimmer Mists and then added metallic rub ons ,she has also used  Rachelle's Metal Effect Technique on her chipboard to add more texture.
Tip: don't be afraid to layer your chipboard, different sizes of chipboard is perfect to achieve the layered look just like the cogs and squares on Julie's LO.

I hope you enjoyed our Design Team's samples and we can't wait to see your take on our challenge!!!

Happy Scrapping!
