October 2014 "White with a Twist" Blog Challenge...

Continuing this month with the "WHITE WITH A TWIST" Challenge for our October challenge.....BUT to help brighten our days and celebrate the warmer "Spring" weather we are changing our inspiration photo to something fresh and pretty!!!

So welcome to our October picture inspiration Challenge everyone!
This month we want you to use White combined with the colours in this "Spring" themed photo.

So the challenge is:
Create a layout inspired by ALL the colours in this photo and you MUST use at least one piece of chipboard.

You must use WHITE combined with the colours above. You can use printed paper as long as these colours are the main focus of the paper. There can be other colours on the printed paper, but not too much to take away from the colours in the inspiration picture.

You can use anything to create these colours like mists, inks or paints.

You can use a small amount of black/brown just for a little stamping, inking, journaling or just as a small accessory, however it is NOT to be the main focus of your layout.

You can use as little or alot of each colour, but every colour or shade of that colour in the picture MUST be used. You can use varied shades of the colours - it depends on the inspiration that you get from the picture.

Rules:
Create a layout following the above criteria
After you have created a LO for the challenge please upload it to your blog, online gallery or Facebook page -
make sure you mention us and link back to our blog challenge.  Then add your challenge link to us using the correct Mister Linky on the right hand side of our BLOG.
Once you have done that just pop over to the SO FaceBook page and let us know you have entered our challenge - you can then link back to your own blog or FB page as well so we can all go and check out your creation.
Out of courtesy, please link your challenge entries back to the Scrapping Outback BLOG challenge or be sure to give credit to the Scrapping Outback challenge and if there is a sketch to follow please give credit to the sketch artist as well.
Please use your creation for our challenge only - it is not to be used in other challenges.
If you are winner be sure to grab your Challenge Winners Blinkie to add to your blog.
Thank you.
Due Date: 31st October 2014 11.59pm
Prize:  $15 shop voucher to spend in our store for the winning layout will be chosen by
 our design team :)

So to get you inspired to create we have some wonderful examples from our very talented Design Team girls as well as another Guest Designer creation for you....

Please welcome our Guest designer for this month
 Lauren Colless
with her amazing creation  "Daydream everyday"

Laurens tip: journalling around the outside of your layout can be a discreet way to add your story or comments without taking up a chunk of space on your layout.  Plus, don't be afraid to try something and see what happens - it's just paper.  I used gesso and ordinary household tissues to create texture after I'd spritzed and splattered my white cardstock (yes, that was originally white!). If you're really worried about 'ruining' something, try the technique on scrap first.
Products Used:

Chipboard: "daydreamer"and "everyday" (WOW)

Next up we have this Stunning Layout by the very talented Cynthia Llorens from Brazil.
Cynthia has been inspired by the use of printed paper, mists and textures. She has also handmade most of the flowers on her layout.

 Products Used:

Next up we have Karen McLaughlan with her absolutely
beautiful creation!!
Karen has been inspired by printed paper, lots of flowers and chipboard which she has coloured to suit her creation.

Karens Tip for you: To colour chipboard first paint with gesso, wait until dry and then use the versacolor ink pads (lots in stock) to give the colour required. A lot less messier than paint and sprays.

Finally we have Marie Mazz Cairns with her stunning texture inspired creation!!
Marie has used white cardstock as her base with lots of flowers, fibres and chipboard which she has chosen to suit her creation.

Marie's Tip for you:  If you don’t have ‘quite the right’ colour in your stash – you can always change it.  I've used white cardstock and painted it – the base background was too ‘in my face’ to start with so I just lightly wiped some white gesso over it. The Manor house white frame was white and I’ve painted it.
Products Used:
 SO White cardstock
Kaiser template (Lattice)
  Kaiser wooden word (cherish)
Words of Whatever (WOW) Alyssa Flourish
Ranger Distress Paint (peeled paint, pickled raspberry & seedless preserves)
Manor House Creations Wood-heart-Mail
Manor House Creations ornate frame (circular) white
  Homemade & Prima Marketing flowers
Maya Road Rose Ribbon
Couture Creations double sided tape & foam dots
Green Tara velvet leaves (white)
